Where the EZVIZ H1c Gets Used in Kenya
Home monitoring in Nairobi estates — Monitor your living room,
front door area, or home office remotely while at work or travelling.
The EZVIZ app works over Safaricom, Airtel, or any data connection.
Motion alerts reach your phone within seconds of activity being detected,
even when you are in a different county.
Baby and child monitoring — Place the H1c in a baby’s room
or children’s bedroom. Two-way audio lets you speak to your child
from another room or from work. Night vision ensures clear footage
in a darkened room without disturbing sleep.
Nanny and home help monitoring — A common use case in Kenyan
households. The H1c sits on a shelf or table and monitors
activity during working hours. MicroSD storage records
continuously without requiring a cloud subscription,
keeping footage private and locally stored.
Small business and shop monitoring — Suitable for small retail
spaces, salons, pharmacies, and offices where one or two indoor
cameras are sufficient. The EZVIZ app lets the business owner
monitor the premises remotely from any location.
Rental property monitoring — Landlords in Nairobi use
indoor WiFi cameras to monitor common areas in apartment
buildings and rental units. The H1c’s discreet design
blends into any interior without drawing attention.
What the EZVIZ H1c Is NOT Good For
- Outdoor use — The H1c is an indoor camera.
It is not weatherproof and will be damaged by rain,
direct sunlight, or humidity outdoors.
For outdoor surveillance, the EZVIZ C3 or
EZVIZ C3X are the appropriate models. - Areas without WiFi — The H1c requires a stable
2.4GHz WiFi connection to stream and send alerts.
It does not work over 4G SIM or wired Ethernet.
For locations without WiFi, a 4G solar camera
is the better option. - Large area coverage — One H1c covers one room
effectively. For whole-house or multi-room coverage,
multiple cameras or a full NVR system with
Hikvision or Dahua IP cameras provides better coverage. - Recording without power — The H1c requires
continuous power via the USB adapter.
It has no battery backup. If power goes out,
recording stops until power is restored.
Storage Options Explained
MicroSD card (local storage) — Insert a microSD card
of up to 256GB directly into the camera. The camera records
motion-triggered or continuous footage to the card.
No monthly fees. Footage stays on the card and is
accessed via the EZVIZ app or by removing the card.
MicroSD cards are available at Yasaf Tech Centre.
EZVIZ cloud storage — Optional paid subscription
that stores footage on EZVIZ’s servers. Useful if
the camera or SD card is stolen or damaged,
as footage is stored offsite. Plans start at
a monthly fee — check the EZVIZ app for current pricing.
Common Questions
Does it work with Safaricom WiFi routers?
Yes. The H1c connects to any standard 2.4GHz WiFi router
including Safaricom fiber, Zuku, Faiba, and Airtel home
broadband routers. During setup, select your WiFi network
name in the EZVIZ app and enter the password.
The camera connects in under 2 minutes.
Can I view the camera when I am outside Kenya?
Yes. The EZVIZ app works over any internet connection
worldwide. As long as your phone has data and the
camera has WiFi, you can view live footage,
receive motion alerts, and use two-way audio
from anywhere in the world.
Does the microSD card come included?
No. The camera is sold without a microSD card.
You need to purchase a microSD card separately.
A 32GB or 64GB Class 10 microSD card is sufficient
for most home users. Cards are available at
Yasaf Tech Centre.
Will it record when there is no motion?
By default the H1c records motion-triggered clips.
You can enable continuous recording in the EZVIZ app
settings, which requires a microSD card with
sufficient capacity. Continuous recording at 1080p
uses approximately 8–12GB per day.
Is it available at Yasaf Tech Centre in Nairobi?
Yes. The EZVIZ H1c Wi-Fi Camera is available at
Yasaf Tech Centre, Junction Trade Centre, Shop 501,
5th Floor, Nairobi. Order online for delivery
across Kenya.
