Where the EZVIZ H3C Gets Used in Kenya
Home gates and driveways — The most common outdoor
WiFi camera position in Nairobi estates. Mount at the gate
or above the garage door to monitor vehicle entry and exit.
The 103° field of view covers a standard driveway width.
IP67 rating handles Nairobi’s rainy seasons without
water damage. Night vision at 30 metres covers the
full length of most residential driveways.
Shop and business frontage — Mount above the entrance
of a retail shop, salon, pharmacy, or restaurant to
monitor customer entry and street activity.
The EZVIZ app sends motion alerts to the owner’s phone
the moment someone approaches after closing hours.
Two-way audio lets staff communicate with
visitors at the entrance remotely.
Rental property and estate monitoring — Landlords
in Nairobi install outdoor WiFi cameras at stairwell
entrances, parking areas, and building perimeters.
One camera per key access point is a common setup.
The encrypted transmission protects tenant privacy
while maintaining property security.
School and institutional perimeters — Cover
school gates, parking areas, and outdoor corridors.
The -30°C to 60°C operating range handles
Kenya’s temperature variations from highland
cold to Mombasa coast heat without performance issues.
Construction site monitoring — Temporary outdoor
camera installation during construction to monitor
material storage and site access. IP67 rating
handles construction dust and rain.
Connect via a site WiFi router or mobile hotspot.
What the EZVIZ H3C Is NOT Good For
- Areas without WiFi coverage — The H3C requires
a stable 2.4GHz WiFi signal at the camera location.
For outdoor positions far from the router —
a gate at the end of a long driveway —
a WiFi extender may be needed to reach the camera.
For locations with no WiFi at all,
a 4G SIM-based solar camera is the better option. - Very large area coverage — The 103° field of view
and 30-metre night vision cover a single camera position well.
For complete perimeter coverage of a large compound,
multiple cameras or a full NVR system with
IP cameras provides better coverage. - Recording without power — The H3C requires
continuous DC 12V power. It has no battery backup.
During a power outage recording stops.
For continuous recording during outages,
connect to a UPS or use a solar-powered camera. - Wired CCTV DVR systems — The H3C is a standalone
WiFi camera managed via the EZVIZ app.
It does not connect to a Hikvision or Dahua DVR.
For DVR-based systems, use analog HD cameras
with BNC connections.
Common Questions
Does it work with Safaricom or Zuku WiFi routers?
Yes. The H3C connects to any standard 2.4GHz WiFi router
including Safaricom fiber, Zuku, Faiba, and Airtel home
broadband. During setup in the EZVIZ app, select your
WiFi network name and enter the password.
The camera connects in under 2 minutes.
Can I view it from outside Kenya?
Yes. The EZVIZ app works over any internet connection
worldwide. As long as your phone has data and the
camera has WiFi, you can view live footage,
receive motion alerts, and use two-way audio
from anywhere internationally.
What is the difference between IP67 and IP66?
IP67 provides full dust protection and can withstand
temporary immersion in water up to 1 metre for 30 minutes.
IP66 provides full dust protection and protection
against powerful water jets but not immersion.
Both ratings handle Nairobi’s rain without issues —
IP67 is the higher standard and provides additional
protection in very wet outdoor positions.
Does the microSD card come included?
No. The camera is sold without a microSD card.
A 64GB or 128GB Class 10 microSD card is sufficient
for most users. Cards are available at Yasaf Tech Centre.
For reference, continuous 1080p recording
uses approximately 8–12GB per day.
Can I use it as an outdoor nanny or household help monitor?
Yes — for outdoor positions like a garden,
compound, or covered outdoor area.
For indoor nanny monitoring, the EZVIZ H1c
is the more appropriate model as it is
designed specifically for indoor use.
Is it available at Yasaf Tech Centre in Nairobi?
Yes. The EZVIZ H3C 1080p Wi-Fi Camera is available
at Yasaf Tech Centre, Junction Trade Centre, Shop 501,
5th Floor, Nairobi. Order online for delivery
across Kenya.
