A 4K Video Capture Card lets you record or stream anything with an HDMI output —
a PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, DSLR camera, or any HDMI-enabled device —
directly to your PC or Mac. No capture software built into the console required.
No lag on your gaming screen. Just clean, high-quality video going into OBS,
Streamlabs, Zoom, or any recording app.
This capture card connects via USB 3.0, is recognized instantly as a UVC device,
and requires zero driver installation on Windows 10/11, macOS, or Linux.

What This Capture Card Is Used For in Kenya
Game streaming and recording — Connect a PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One,
Nintendo Switch, or PS4 to your PC via this card. OBS Studio picks it up
immediately as a video source. Stream to YouTube, Twitch, or Facebook Live
while playing on your TV with zero added input lag via the HDMI pass-through.
DSLR and camcorder capture — Turn a Canon, Sony, or Nikon DSLR into a
broadcast-quality webcam or recording source. Connect the camera’s HDMI out
to this card, select it as your video source in OBS or Zoom, and you have a
professional camera feed on your PC without any capture software on the camera itself.
Online teaching and webinars — Educators and corporate trainers in Nairobi
using Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet can route a camera or presentation
display through this card for sharper video quality than a built-in laptop webcam.
Works with any HDMI video source as input.
Podcast and interview recording — Record two-camera interview setups,
live events, or panel discussions directly to your laptop. The card handles
the video input while your audio interface handles sound — both routed into
OBS or your recording software simultaneously.
Compatible Devices
- Game consoles: PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch
- Cameras: DSLR (Canon, Sony, Nikon with HDMI out), GoPro, camcorders
- Other HDMI sources: Laptops, tablets, Blu-ray players, set-top boxes
- Host computers: Any PC or Mac with USB 3.0 running Windows 10/11, macOS, or Linux
What This Capture Card Is NOT For
- Recording at 4K to your PC — Input accepts 4K, but the capture output
to your PC is 1080p@60fps. The 4K signal passes through to your TV/monitor
unaffected, but your recording file will be 1080p. - Wireless or USB cameras — This card requires an HDMI input.
USB webcams connect directly to your PC and do not need a capture card. - Capturing HDCP-protected content — Most streaming services
(Netflix, DSTV Now, Disney+) use HDCP copy protection on HDMI.
This card cannot capture HDCP-protected signals — this is a legal
restriction, not a device fault. - Standalone recording without a PC — This card requires a connected
PC or Mac running capture software. It does not record to a memory card
on its own.
Common Questions
Will it work with OBS Studio on Windows 11?
Yes. Add a Video Capture Device source in OBS, select this card from the
device list, and it appears immediately. No additional plugins or drivers needed.
Works on both 32-bit and 64-bit OBS installations.
Can I use it for Zoom or Microsoft Teams video calls?
Yes. Because it registers as a UVC device, Zoom and Teams recognize it as a
webcam option in their video settings. Select it as your camera source and
your HDMI input — whether a DSLR or a console — becomes your meeting video feed.
Will there be lag when I’m gaming?
No. The HDMI pass-through sends your console’s signal directly to your TV
or monitor without any processing delay. The capture card only processes
the signal being sent to your PC — your gaming experience on screen is unaffected.
Does it work with a Nintendo Switch in docked mode?
Yes. Connect the Switch dock’s HDMI out to the capture card’s HDMI in,
connect the card to your PC via USB 3.0, and connect the card’s HDMI out
to your TV. You play on the TV at full quality while OBS captures the feed.
Is it compatible with MacBook Air or MacBook Pro?
Yes, via USB 3.0. MacBook Air and Pro with USB-A ports connect directly.
For newer MacBooks with only USB-C, use a USB-C to USB-A adapter or a
USB-C hub with USB-A ports — both work without issues.
